Huawei and EVe Partnership: Revolutionizing EV Charging in Singapore

Huawei, a global technology leader, and EV-Electric (EVe) Charging from Singapore have joined forces to address the escalating demand for Electric Vehicle (EV) charging solutions in Singapore. The collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aims to exchange market insights and technological advancements specifically tailored for EV chargers.

The key highlights of the partnership include:

  • Sharing market insights and cutting-edge technology for EV chargers
  • Exploring proof-of-concept projects for Huawei’s Fully Liquid-cooled Ultra-fast charger
  • Developing integrated solutions incorporating solar photovoltaic technology and energy storage systems

This strategic alliance signifies Huawei’s debut of its Fully Liquid-cooled Ultra-fast chargers in the Singaporean market. These chargers boast a remarkable charging speed nearly 10 times faster than the standard 50kW chargers commonly found in Singapore.

Maxi Wang, the Chief Executive Officer of Huawei International, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We are delighted to partner with EVe and proud to introduce our most advanced EV charging solutions to Singapore. By collaborating with EVe, we aim to better support Singapore’s growing EV community and contribute to the country’s sustainability goals outlined in the Singapore Green Plan 2030 and beyond.”

The Fully Liquid-cooled Ultra-fast chargers from Huawei represent a significant leap in EV charging technology, offering an ultra-fast charging rate of one kilometer per second compared to the standard 50kW chargers, which typically require about an hour for a full charge.

Derek Tan, the Chief Executive Officer of EVe, emphasized the potential impact of this innovation, particularly for high-mileage users such as taxi, private hire, and delivery drivers. Tan stated, “It is a potential game changer, especially for high mileage users such as taxi, private hire and delivery drives. At almost 10 times the speed of conventional fast chargers, we can help users save even more time and at some point, hopefully bring the charging experience closer to that of petrol kiosks.”

This collaboration between Huawei and EVe marks a significant milestone in the evolution of EV charging infrastructure in Singapore, promising faster and more efficient charging solutions tailored to meet the needs of a growing EV market.
