Weekly Tech Roundup: Apple Discounts iPhones in China, Samsung Offers Summer Sale
In this week’s tech roundup, we explore Apple’s aggressive discounting campaign in China, Samsung’s summer sale, and more.
Apple Discounts iPhones in China
Apple has launched an aggressive discounting campaign on its official Tmall site in China, offering discounts of up to 2,300 yuan ($318) on select iPhone models. The discounting campaign, which runs from May 20 to May 28, is more substantial than the one Apple offered in February. The steepest discount applies to the 1TB iPhone 15 Pro Max model, with other models also seeing significant price cuts.
The increased competitive pressure on Apple comes after Huawei introduced its new series of high-end smartphones last month. Apple’s previous discounting effort in February seems to have paid off, as the company experienced a 12% increase in shipments in China in March.
Samsung Offers Summer Sale
Samsung is offering serious discounts on a wide variety of items during its summer sale, including smartphones, TVs, soundbars, refrigerators, and more. The sale, which runs from May 20 to May 26, offers discounts of up to 35% off on consumer electronics and smart home goods.
Grid Studio Offers Discounts on Tech Art
Grid Studio is discounting some items by up to $100, including the Grid 4S, Grid Game Boy Pocket, and Grid NES controller. The sale is perfect for Father’s Day gifts or for anyone looking to add some unique tech art to their collection.
